Reddie and Grose announces UPC litigation services

28/02/2023

With the UPC opening its doors on 1 June 2023, Reddie & Grose is excited to offer its services in handling revocation actions before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Our European Patent Attorneys are qualified to act before the UPC, and we look forward to supporting clients in both challenging third party patents and defending revocation actions before this new court.

Our readiness to act before the UPC is founded on our experience supporting national litigation proceedings before the national courts of Europe as well as our enviable track record handling high value opposition proceedings, in all technical areas, before the European Patent Office (EPO) and Boards of Appeal.  When opposition proceedings run parallel to a UPC revocation action, we will be uniquely placed to handle both actions concurrently, providing clients with a seamless service across both forums.

For infringement actions, we can draw on our extensive network of UK and European patent litigators to assemble a bespoke team of legal and technical advisors.  With this flexibility of choice, each team will have the background and experience necessary to meet the unique challenges of each and every case.

Our reputation as a progressive and collaborative firm makes us the perfect partner for UK and European law firms who are seeking commercially aware patent attorneys to support them in their UPC litigation.  With offices in the United Kingdom and Germany, our attorneys are ideally located to support cases before the Central Division as well as the major regional and local divisions.

In addition to acting before the UPC, we will continue to provide our services supporting litigation before the national courts in the United Kingdom and Europe.

When it opens, the UPC will have jurisdiction over unitary patents as well as European patents and associated supplementary protection certificates that are not opted out. For further information about the unitary patent and unified patent court see here.

If you have any questions about unitary patent protection or the UPC, then please contact your usual Reddie & Grose attorney or Robin Ellis, Zack Mummery or Paul Loustalan.
