Zack assists large multinational corporations, SMEs and start-ups operating at the cutting edge of chemistry and pharmaceutical technologies.
Zack has a wealth of experience drafting new patent applications and managing large patent portfolios covering developed and emerging markets. Zack regularly provides clear commercially focussed advice on patent strategies, utilising patent protection and managing the risk posed by third party patent rights.
Zack also has experience of supporting clients through funding rounds, assisting clients with investor due diligence and in 2021 he provided IP support for a multimillion dollar public offering.
A large part of his practice is EPO oppositions and appeals, and he has represented clients at oral proceedings before the Opposition Division, Technical Board of Appeal and Examining Division.
Zack is comfortable working with technologies spanning the chemistry and pharmaceutical fields and he has particular experience handling work relating to small molecule pharmaceuticals, polymers, specialist fibres, sustainable materials, food technology, digital diagnostics and synthetic chemistry.
Zack joined Reddie & Grose in 2011 and qualified as a European and UK Patent Attorney in 2015.
Prior to joining Reddie & Grose, Zack obtained a first class MSci degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. He completed a final year project in the field of organic photochemistry, combining synthetic organic chemistry, physical chemistry and computational chemistry.
Outside of work, Zack can often be found tending to his allotment. He is a keen climber and also enjoys cooking and travel.
