Joseph Duffy is a trainee patent attorney in the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Consumer Products team.
Joseph joined Reddie & Grose in January 2021 after graduating from the University of Cambridge with an BA, MSci in Natural Sciences, specialising in Materials Science.
During his undergraduate degree he undertook modules in metallurgy, semiconductors, nuclear materials, and materials chemistry, as well as a literature review on “the applications of auxetic materials”. Additionally, he completed a research project into the thermal shock resistance of a novel candidate material for diesel particulate filters. In his final year he carried out research as part of the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy Rolls Royce UTC group. This project focussed on “the effect of surface modifications on the fatigue behaviour of nickel-based superalloys”.
In his spare time, Joseph is a keen cyclist, rower, and avid home-cook.
