Dr Dustin Bauer specialises in patent work in medical devices, advanced materials, and battery technology.
Dustin is a native German speaker, he holds an engineering degree from Germany and a PhD in Materials Chemistry from UCL, where his research focused on nanoparticle synthesis for lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and hybrid capacitors.
He has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting battery technology patents, with expertise spanning electrode and electrolyte materials, cell chemistry and design, battery manufacturing processes and machines, and electric vehicle applications.
Dustin supports clients from early-stage innovation through to enforcement, developing commercially aligned patent strategies. He frequently represents clients in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, acting in both offensive and defensive matters, and is a European Patent Litigator accredited to represent clients before the Unified Patent Court.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing padel and tennis, skiing, long walks with his dog, travelling, and recreating dishes he discovers along the way.
