
Toby McManus joined Reddie & Grose in September 2022 and handles patents in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, and consumer products.
Toby has drafted patents across a broad range of technologies, including aerospace, automotive, battery tech, and consumer products for individual inventors and start-ups through to large multinational corporations. He also has experience in prosecuting applications before the EPO and UKIPO.
Toby holds a MEng degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester. His undergraduate project was the conceptual design of an inter-planetary nano satellite deployer which he tailored for use in future missions to Mars. His Masters project was the design, manufacture and test of a reusable eco-friendly drone for humanitarian missions between mainland UK and British Isles during the Coronavirus pandemic.
After completing his studies, Toby helped to develop and test virtual reality sports training games for use in professional sports such as football, formula 1 and American football. Toby then spent time as a stress engineer on the Dreadnought Project.
Toby is fluent in both English and French after spending 6 years living in Southern France.
Whilst at university, Toby was the Chairman of the Manchester Tyrants American football team for three years and took part in flight simulation society.
Outside of work Toby is a high level American football Quarterback, having previously played semi-professionally in Austria. He also enjoys being in the mountains, especially skiing in the Alps when visiting family in the winter months.
