Rebecca (Becky) McAleer is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney who advises clients on the protection, management and enforcement of trade mark portfolios across the UK and internationally.
Drawing on experience gained in both the public and private sectors, including an internship at the UK Intellectual Property Office, Becky provides practical, commercially minded advice across the full lifecycle of brand protection. Clients value her pragmatic approach and her ability to deliver advice that is both strategic and commercially focused.
Her practice encompasses both contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters, including clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement and brand protection strategies. Becky particularly enjoys managing international portfolios and coordinating prosecution across multiple jurisdictions, helping clients navigate the differing requirements of intellectual property offices around the world. She also advises on copyright and registered designs, and has experience supporting anti-counterfeiting programmes through customs recordals and wider brand protection initiatives.
Becky works with clients across a range of industries, with experience in the finance, media, cosmetics and fashion sectors. She has a particular interest in brand protection, including tackling counterfeit and “dupe” products, customs enforcement and online infringement, helping clients protect and maximise the value of their brands in an increasingly digital marketplace.
Before qualifying as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in 2023, Becky completed an LLB in Law and French Law at Cardiff University and the Université de Nantes.
Outside of work, Becky enjoys travelling and recently returned from spending six months exploring South East Asia. She can often be found at a spin class, searching for the perfect almond croissant or enjoying live music and festivals.
