Megan Ellis is a trainee patent attorney and a member of the Engineering, Materials & Consumer Products team in Cambridge.
Megan joined Reddie & Grose in September 2026 after graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a First Class MPhys in Physics.
During her master’s degree, Meg explored the behaviour of ice under extreme conditions, with the aim of modelling the interiors of ice giant planets. She also undertook undergraduate research into the reorganisation of skin lipids following heating, investigating the repair of the skin barrier and the suitability of porcine skin as a model for human skin, with applications in transdermal drug delivery. During two summer research projects with the Quantum Ordering Research Group at the University of Edinburgh, Meg investigated nitrogen-vacancy centres in diamond, measuring magnetic properties and spin coherence for applications in magnetic sensing and qubit development. Her second project focused on modelling circuits for use in a millikelvin cryogenic system, with the aim of reducing background signals in low-temperature superconductivity experiments.
In her spare time, Meg enjoys running, yoga and reading. She also likes to travel and hike whenever possible.
