Lucy Harvey handles patent work in the biotechnology & pharmaceuticals sector.
Lucy joined Reddie & Grose in September 2019 after completing a research Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at The University of Bristol.
Her research masters involved developing in vitro models to study angiogenesis. In particular, her work focussed on developing a VEGF-dependent tubulogenesis assay for studying the pro-angiogenic effects of VEGF, a growth factor which is upregulated in many cancers. Alongside her work developing the assay, Lucy contributed to ‘The cancer angiogenesis co-culture assay: In vitro quantification of the angiogenic potential of tumoroids’, which is to publish later this year. Her Masters research also involved developing methods to accurately determine the cell membrane polarity of a number of proteins crucial to angiogenic signalling in endothelial cells.
Outside of work, Lucy is a keen snowboarder. Prior to joining Reddie & Grose, Lucy worked as a chalet host in La Plagne, where she combined her hobbies of cooking and snowsports.
