Charlotte Malley is a European Patent Attorney, Chartered Patent Attorney and UPC Representative specialising in biologics and pharmaceuticals.
With almost a decade of experience, Charlotte advises pharmaceutical and life sciences companies on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious patent matters, with particular experience in pharmaceuticals and biologics. She holds an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge.
Prior to joining Reddie & Grose, Charlotte worked at a leading IP litigation firm, where she gained significant experience in patent litigation and UPC proceedings. Her UPC experience includes advocacy at oral proceedings, drafting written submissions and advising clients on potential UPC actions and strategy, including the interaction between UPC proceedings and EPO oppositions. She has also worked on a significant patent dispute before the UK High Court through to trial, including matters involving the doctrine of equivalence.
Charlotte has extensive experience in opposition and contentious proceedings, having spent more than seven years at a leading patent attorney firm. She has coordinated parallel UPC and EPO opposition proceedings and regularly advises on validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate matters for pharmaceutical companies. Her current practice focuses on oppositions and other contentious patent matters, drawing on the experience that she has gained working before the EPO, UPC and UK High Court.
