We’re pleased to announce, yet again, we have been ranked in the IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. The firm are recommended in Patent Prosecution in the UK and at the European Patent Office (EPO).

As a firm, we have kept our silver ranking in the UK and have progressed from bronze to silver ranking in Europe. Neil Thornton captains the life sciences team. He brings close to three decades of experience drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications across the globe.

Offering further expertise on the life sciences front are Michael Roberts and Andrew Carridge. The duo acts for domestic and international companies that run the gamut from SMEs to multinationals. They have recently teamed up to support Mara Renewables Corporation in complex opposition intervention proceedings at the EPO concerning two patents also involved in UK infringement proceedings.

On the electronics and software team, Pete Sadler and Nick Reeve are dynamic and technically astute practitioners. Sadler is particularly skilled at the EPO. He uses all available tools to score crucial wins in commercially significant opposition proceedings. While Reeve knows how to draft patent applications to optimise their chances of success.

Likewise, William Ponder and Paul Loustalan easily translate their clients’ technologies into perfectly drafted applications that aim to achieve a broad scope of protection. The pair can also be relied on for expert representation in opposition proceedings at the EPO. Ponder and Loustalan are the essential contacts in the engineering group.

Splitting his time between the United Kingdom and Germany, executive partner Jan Vleck crosses technical disciplines with ease to assist companies in an array of sectors. His years of experience and deep well of knowledge mean he can achieve favourable results even in the toughest situations.”
