Dr Ben Hipwell handles patent work in the Electrical Engineering, Telecoms and Software field.
Ben joined Reddie & Grose in September 2018. After completing his undergraduate masters in Physics in 2014, Ben began working towards a PhD in Medical Imaging at UCL, which he completed part-time after joining the firm. His PhD was focused on development of new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques for studying cancer, computational modelling of water diffusion processes in tissue, and applying machine learning algorithms to infer tumour properties from raw MRI data. His areas of expertise include medical devices, biophysical modelling, artificial intelligence and image/video processing algorithms.
Ben has experience working on patents in various fields including software, medical devices, consumer products, telecoms and electronics. In particular, Ben has drafted multiple patent specifications within the rapidly-growing field of AI-related inventions.
In his spare time Ben is an avid rugby fan, and his hobbies include bouldering, cycling and playing badminton.
