Aidan Robson handles patents in the electrical, electronic and software sectors and advises a range of trade mark clients.
Aidan has been with Reddie & Grose since 1987 and became a partner in 1993.
Aidan handles patent and trade mark matters for a range of UK and international clients. His patent clients include those in the fields of computer graphics, laser systems, microprocessor systems, integrated circuits, telecommunication systems, automotive electronics, consumer electronics, mobile telephony, and medical devices. He handles prosecution and opposition matters and regularly represents clients at hearings before the Technical and Appeal Boards of the EPO. He also advises clients on infringement and validity issues, and on due diligence reviews of patent portfolios. His trade mark practice involves advising clients on new marks, obtaining local and international protection for these, as well as handling opposition, revocation and validity issues.
Aidan regularly travels to both North America and Asia, to meet with clients and to represent Reddie & Grose at international conferences. He attends conferences of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), and the International Trade Mark Association (INTA), and is a member of the L’Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI). He is a member of the International Liason Committee of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and has been on delegations to meet with professional institutes from a number of countries, including USA, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
He was a non-executive director of Computer Patent Annuities from 2000 to 2009.
Outside work, Aidan enjoys cycling, skiing and walking, and has an interest in wine.
