Patrick has over 20 years experience advising clients in the patents and trade marks field. He joined us in 1987 to complete his training and became a partner in 1990.

Patrick's clients include a broad spectrum of companies and universities, based mainly in the UK, USA and Japan. He represents clients in a wide range of electrical and electronic arts, including telecoms and video, and a particular focus in recent years has been in the field of software and business methods.

Patrick advises on patent filing strategy. He is often instructed to provide infringement and validity opinions. He handles trade mark disputes including oppositions and cancellation actions, and has negotiated many settlement agreements between parties.

In his spare time, he plays the saxophone and the oboe, listens to jazz and enjoys cricket.
