Robert has 10 years' experience helping his clients get the most from their IP. During his career as a patent attorney, he has advised clients working in a huge range of different engineering technologies including telecommunications, cleanTech, and mechanical devices. Patenting software and business method inventions is also in his field of expertise. Robert has advised clients of all sizes, from individual inventors through to large multi-nationals.
His commercial experience includes several months working for Nippon Steel in Japan.
Robert joined the profession in October 2000. He joined Reddie & Grose in November 2002 and became an associate of the firm in 2005.

Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering Science, University of Oxford. This is a general engineering degree with a strong mathematical basis that included aspects of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering as well as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science. Robert specialised in information and electrical engineering including signal and image processing, and control systems
- PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, University of Surrey. Robert used new magnetic resonance imaging techniques and ellipsometry (an optical technique using elliptically polarised light) to measure solvent/polymer interactions. Computer models were created to explain the observed phenomena
- Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, Queen Mary University of London 2002
